yep that's what I think as well, at least concerning the major western markets. With some good marketing they can sell a new name without much of a problem Imho

Sony has quite a boss of a marketing department. They just don't advertise very well anymore. I mean they used to be the best in the world in my opinion with advertising (the Bravia Bouncy Balls etc).

And their marketing budget would be smaller than that of MS/Nintendo at the minute.  PlayStation is likely more advertising inelastic.
