If you looked at the PSP for its first 3 years on the market, it was a failure. That's why people are confused about this topic. PSP was supposed to be on par or beat the DS, as most people expected, given the PS brand trackrecord at the time (right after the KING of consoles, the PS2). The same phenomenon is happening with the PS3. So the PSP definitely got out of its rut, and became a legitimate contender to its competition. That's what I consider success. If it kept selling at weak rates, and kept offering weak versions of PS2 games, of course one would consider it a failure, just like everyone does the Gamegear et al.

On a side-note @ MUGEN, I'm sorry but your double-standards are really off. If you're considering the Wii laughable because it's getting beating at this point in its lifetime, or that the 3DS is a failure only 3 months into launch, it shows your lack of depth in understanding platforms and their lifetime curves. Your bias is really hard to swallow, and your "Move along" comments are so dumb, it's not even funny. People have points of view, and legitimate ones at that. In the mean time you're playing hegemonist, and its just silly.

if you can't understand what a person is trying to say, ask questions, don't assume crap it makes you look like a complete idiot in the process. Why I think wii is laughable is not only because it's current status, it's the gaming library, hw strength etc etc. and that's not even the point I was trying to make. You can't come up with measures of success on your own. You can't seem to graps the concept of common sense, and the comment as a whole is so dumb....well not that I expected any better from you. Here's a little info for you, a products success doesn't mean the competition failed. DS did amazingly well, psp did great too. It has the sales and the gaming library to back it up. and fyi psp outsold ds in the first year or so iirc. I have a point of view that some of you should just move along, not many are agreeing with what you guys are saying and rambling on about it won't change that, it's just become rather silly now. PSP will sell about 80mil LT, has an extensive gaming library, earned sony money and helped them get their foot in on the portable gaming market. It's a great success for them. You are playing a ignorant game now and frankly not sure why I waste my time with you. Guess I touched a nerve with my 3ds comment LOL...sorry to hurt your feelings or something I guess. What you lack is an understanding of what is considered a success in a business, and that's ok, just try to educate on yourself on that a bit. common sense portion...can't help you there

There is no us and youz, fanboy. There's me, there's other people, our opinions, our reasonable thinking, and then there are chumps like you who can't see beyond themselves and their playstation. (No offense at Sony or its products, I actually only own a 3DS and PS2 at the moment, go figure. I just want to rub it in a little for you, how does that sound?). For the record, if I get banned for saying that, it was totally worth it. I read your other posts. I understood from the start your reverse logic, proof by contradiction, and altogether poor attempt at trying to push the perspective argument, which we all understood when we became smart (we don't need proof on things like that just so you know, not even by contradiction, as smart as it may make you look), but in the end you're wrong by how you brought it up and that was my point to you, and your double-standards. And I was even trying to be nice about it, imagine if I wasn't, it would've resulted in this. Few other than you on this forum would even suggest the Wii was a failure, not even laughable by any reasonable thought process, or even suggest the 3DS a failure at this point in its lifecycle, unless he were an absolute troll.
