They are only doing this because there is a market for it. The moment an inniative like this starts costing Activision's sale and thus profit margin, it will stop. And since I am 100% certain that there will be millions of consumer that will happily fork out money for this 'premium' service I see no chance of that happening.
Don't buy the game if you dislike the policy. Vote with your wallet, end of story.
