No, it plays beautifully on a controller because that was what it was designed for.   You might have designed it differently, but it doesn't mean it's shit. 

I MUCH prefer playing on a controller to playing on a keyboard so I'm glad they designed it to work that way.  The game is one of the best RPGs I've ever played.
