nah I just don't take bs that well, but strong enough to make it through such things too :) also will do anything for those he cherish (for me it would be my family, gf, closest friends) you seem to look at this on a very superficial level if that's all you got from him in the anime/manga

True, but most heroically aligned anime characters would do anything for those they love. Hell, the surest way to tell a villain apart from a potential hero is when he or she absolutely won't do that (or maybe too much One Piece has finally started rotting my brain) :P

well samurai champloo isn't your average shounen anime/manga story line tho. and Mugen isn't a hero, he is an anti-hero. him and jin are polar opposites in that sense. Jin is calm in appearence but has a violent side. Mugen is bat shit crazy but has a softer side.

and let's face it :D NO WAY IN HELL will anyone have someone that is like them 100% in an anime. The closest we will find such a person would be in a slice of life anime/manga. Tbh even then can't think of anyone who is like me :S maybe cuz I don't watch much slice of life stuff. Either way it's good to not think too deeply about these things :D
