Well to start with... he didn't distribute their code. He distibuted a patch that overwrote their code.
Second of all his hack did not allow piracy and online cheating.... and if he did. That is not illegal.
See Nintendo of America vs Galoob.

ps3s need to download the entire code in order to update if I'm not mistaken thats why firmware updates take so long, so thats a no to that one since custom firmware would have to have it, and his code allowed it after a minor alteration thats like smugging wet drugs, you need to dry them out but they're still drugs
|
You are mistaken. Hence why to download custom firmware you need to downgrade your firmware on PSP which is why they sell those Pandora battery flashers. Custom Firmware is just a patch.
Otherwise it wouldn't matter what firmware you had to download custom firmware, it'd just overwrite no matter what.

He's still guilty and he still caused priracy and online cheating I really don't care about your excuses for it
|
Except he didn't. That was a totally different hacker. You may want to go after them.

It was him, it wasn't just him but it was him, if someone tell everyone in the world how to make dirty bombs and successful their use by terrists rise aren't you going to blame him, even if he claimed to be doing it so that people could prevent it
|
Except... he didn't really. With that logic you may as well blame Sony for building the PS3 in the first place. I don't get why people like you... when proven wrong, and you actually get knowledge in the case... still persist in keeping the same opinion.
