It's like ND is doing everything in their power to suck the skill out of the multiplayer...

Sadly skill-based multiplayer is dieing my friend and i too feel your pain but what can WE  do about it? One of these days CS and TF2 is going to get mind-numbingly boring (my personal favorites).
