Your analogy is dumb because carpenters don't go around disassembling houses left and right for lulz. Meanwhile that's what hackers do and therefore need a lot less provocation. Furthermore hacking isn't a job, it's a hobby.

in this context it doesn't matter if its a job or hobby my point is that its a skill which may be used to cause harm to others... "therefore need a lot less provocation" again you're also making the assuption that the behavior and organisation of hackers is common knowledge.... but is it?... you really think if you ask the common guy on the street who anon is and what they do he'll know?

No it matters a lot, because in one case you are dong something out of the need to feed yourself, the other you do for shits and giggles.

You are digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole. Though i do agree, the security executives at Sony seem about as competent as a hobo on the street.

i still don't see why it matters... its a skill that you are using against someone who offended your friend... but regardless if thats the case lets say its not your profession merely a skill you have and you merely to do it yourself projects on the weekend

edit : btw i never said ( before you posted ) that it was to viewed as a profession merely as a skill the person has, you made that assuption
