That's a pretty awesome story!

Somehow it reminded me of what happened to my friend and I when we went storm chasing in April.  His gas guage doesn't work, so basically we had to guesstimate.  The issue is, he is one of those people who likes to put $20 of gas in at a time, rather than simply fill the whole stupid tank.

So, on Saturday, we had already gone down to the Iowa-Nebraska border, had some good chasing, but some technical difficulties with our 3g internet led to us missing a tornado (we were chasing it when it was still "invisible" but never saw the actual tornado structure.  We had no issues with gas, as we were filling up frequently.

By Sunday morning, we stationed just to the southeast of Rochester, MN (which is in southern MN).  We managed to chase well into Wisconsin (Just past Eau Claire, to be exact).  We were going through a storm that was pouring rain harder than I've ever seen in my life.  One of the cars that was going with us had already turned around, because they didn't want to get in trouble because there was softball size hail just in front of us, along with a high chance for rain wrapped tornadoes.

Well, of all the times in the world, the stupid ass car ran out of gas, on the fricking interstate, with a lot of traffic, when it is raining insanely hard, and potentially going to hail on us.  So we need to pull over.  We call the other car that was with us (one kept chasing with us when the other turned around), and thankfully, they say they will help us out.  In that time frame, we did manage to get some small hail, but it was no big deal.  We discover that not 2 miles ahead of where we were, another stupid ass tornado had dropped down.  Rather than continuing to chase these storms (they were moving at 70 miles per hour, so it was insanely difficult), we decide to turn around, and head back home.  Well, about 30 miles from my friend's house (the one I was chasing with), which is about 2 hours from my house, I was going to stop at the next gas station to fill up with gas.  We FUCKING ran out of gas AGAIN.  2 times in one day!!!  Get this, after already having ran out of gas once, he STILL puts only $20 worth of gas into the tank, hence the reason we ran out a 2nd time.  We wound up having to call his mom, who apparently had to drive while intoxicated to come bring some gas to us.

That got longer than I thought, regardless, that weekend was fricking amazing even though we ran out of gas twice.  Drove 1300 miles in 2 days, haha.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
