Hi, I'd like to dedicate this thread to 1 thing: Doom threads and posts. To my sadness, my latest satirical thread got locked, and I can understand why. Maybe some saw a lack of substance, even a lack of humor. I can take it. In return, I would like to ask you guys why you think doom threads/posts are lame, especially the latest ones on the 3DS and Cafe.

I'll grant myself the right of 1st thought, providing a few reasons why I think they're lame:

1) Most Nintendo doom threads and posts are written by Sony fans or by users who haven't showed interest on any Nintendo portable, past or future. In other words, no matter what Nintendo offers them, they still won't buy it. Their arguments are based on predisposition, not on fact. No matter what you tell them, it will still be doomed.

2) There is rarely any accurate correlation with patterns in the past. The most blatant example, the 3DS' weak launch sales and launch titles. We all know the DS was weak when it launched, saleswise and game-wise. Why does this have to be repeated a million times? If the DS was a phenomenon, why wouldn't the same happen for the 3DS? (rhetorical)

3)  Most Doom posters don't acknowledge Nintendo's new management, and its amazing feat in bringing the Nintendo home consoles from shame to fame (21 million cubes to 86 million Wiis). They fail to see that, though NIntendo failed the core market in the past, the new generation may be able to pull it off.

Why else are the Doom posts and threads lame. Please begin, balance out this vibe for me. Humor welcome

I think 3DS and Cafe are doomed, but I don;t fall under the categories you mentioned.

First off the DS was a success, but the 3DS is not the DS, the DS was designed around the right ideas, great battery lfe, good price, good control scheme allowing for accessible play.  The 3DS on the other hand has horible battery life, 3D is underwhelming and doesn;t really add to most games, and detracts for many, the price is too high, and the layout of the controls is poor.

In addition, while the launch lineup of the DS was weak , it was clear early on tht it would begin to move in the right direction, towarsds the types of games that made the DS and the Wii successful, the opposite is true for the 3DS, 3D Mario is a clear example of this wrong direction.

Much as the Wii followed the DS, the Cafe seems to be following the 3DS, and seems to be going in a direction that will not be  successful, Nintendo is no longer interested in fighting disinterest in gaming and expanding the audience of gaming, they are instead going to fight over the same old market that they fought over in the N64 and GCN eras, and lost.
