I didn't think it was funny, and I sure as hell didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Just a man with a language barrier labeled an idiot because English isn't his first language.

That's totally not the point. It's just a very charmingly awkward and human moment, and I don't think anyone thinks he's an idiot because of it. Anyway, if he's not fluent he's damn near it (judging from Twitter), and I think the awkwardness was more down to his being enthused about a B-level game and trying to hype it to a crowd of jaded journalists in the middle of the strangest press conference in human history.


That was not charming. It was plain awkward. You can't always judge language fluency on writing abilities. I, for example can read and understand Hebrew but absolutely butcher the language when I try to speak it.
