What exactly does this mean:

The credit card concerns were all because the data was never encrypted when sent

Does it refer to the credit card data or what?  Sony specifically said the credit card data was encrypted.

Actually it's old news know since 2007. When the PS3 send the credit card detail to the PSN, the data are not encrypted. So if they can sniff the packages arriving in the PSN, they could have get the card detail. After, the credit card data stored on the PSN are encrypted, but the funny things if i understand well is that the log in and passwords weren't. Every major website hash the passwords to avoid them to be usefull if the data base is hack... Every one but sony.

What is more funny is that the SDF still defend sony when sony is unable to do basic security.

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.
