My PS3 just took me to a screen to change my password... I havent had an email but I was able to change my password.


The fake US account I have is activated on my PS3 because I used it to download some content from the store. That one took me to the screen you say in which you just type the new password and type it a second time.

My real account from Argentina was not activated on my PS3 because there is no PS Store and that means it's impossible for me to download any content from the store with it. So the process is different, instead of taking you to the screen with the 2 password fields, it tells you an e-mail has been sent to your e-mail adress with a link to change your password.

Sony says it can take up to 24 hours to receive the e-mail, but I still haven't received it and I have no way to change my password other than clicking on the link they're supposed to send me in that e-mail.

 

I also tried to get the e-mail with the "forgot your password?" option in both the PS3 and us.playstation.com, but it tells me it was sent and I never receive it :S I even checked the junk folder and there's nothing from them there.

 

Some users in neogaf say they receive the e-mail instantly with gmail but not with hotmail/live and they can't change the passwords of those accounts registered with a hotmail e-mail address.

 

This sucks because I have all my trophies in my real account :( I only use the US one for downloading demos and videos from the store :S
