if one person just sold apples, its likely they will much more apples than someone who was selling apples alongside oranges and pears.
the point is that theres just so many good games on ps3 that appeal to so many types of gamers that a single one will not become a mega hit (sales). theres numerous examples of how a ps3 game with less than half the sales of halo, mario or call of duty has taken GOTY awards on reputable sites.
