Ok, by this logic. We can say that Kessler not only did manage to go back in time, took over the First Sons, found the ray sphere and accelerated its development, plotted an incredibly convoluted plan to get Cole to get his powers and cause the blast that wiped half of Empire city. He was also able to predict that Cole will be able to survive everything and defeat him and he still had time to warn some random agent about the beast so that same random agent will tell Cole to go to New Marais and find an amplifier that will increase his powers so he will be able to defeat the beast.

.... Christ, Batman's got nothing on this guy in terms of "thinking ahead". >_>
