Actually the FF7 for the Wii idea holds the most water for me.
Looking at the success of the Final Fantasy remakes on GBA / DS.
This one title is basically the "LOST" Final Fantasy that was in development for N64.
1) It definately goes with the "memory" line
2) It has a nostalgic factor too it. (I remember seeing the early pics from FF7 on N64 hardware with FFVI characters in Nintendo Power)
3) Relatively inexpensive to make!!! Its an old game, the text is written, the story is done. Square loves to milk a franchise to death. Throw in polished graphics and a new cutscene plus dungeon, and I bet the development cost alone would justify the games release.
4) Potential sales: At least 1 million - 2 million
5) You wont piss off the PS3 faithful! They get the original game still, and you are giving Nintendo leftovers! It's Probably the most important thing!
And if there were an outcry, You could just port it to the PS3 if you wanted! Add a new cutscene and a dungeon! BAM!
I should work for these guys.
Predictions For Last Full Week of Sales in 2010)
WII - 80.35 Million
360 - 43.88 Million
PS3 - 41.40 Million
More terrible predictions coming Jan. 2011!!!
