| Dodece said: I believe in being a devils advocate, and this thread speaks to a narrow frame of mind. Maybe the selling of these consoles has less to do with say the consoles library, or its free service, or someones game addictions, or upcoming games. Maybe just maybe people are upset with the fact that Sony was incompetent, self serving, and shiftless in dealing with the whole aftermath. Not to mention they brought all of this upon themselves and by proxy their customers. Just ignore who is right and who is wrong. Frankly it doesn't really matter. Sony had a glass jaw, and they went out taunting a prize fighter. They made themselves a target. Look this shouldn't need to be said, but there are probably a lot of people that are very upset with Sony. Upset with what they let happen to their personal information. Not only was it a violation, but people have had to put time into watching, and protecting their name and property. Then you have a service that has been down for weeks. That is not a free service by the way. That service came as part of the console. You paid for that service at the cash register. Some people paid over six hundred dollars for that service. At that price they should reasonably feel they deserved better. You cannot put a price on self respect and self worth. I am not saying it is fair, right, or rational. However if someone does feel strongly that they were wronged. They not only have the right to turn their back on the company and its product. They kind of have a obligation to do so. Some people are going to be upset about all of this, and they aren't stupid or worthless for standing up for themselves. You should respect people for doing what they feel is right even if you do not agree with them. Just something to consider. It probably has everything to do with how people feel about the situation, and frankly that should by enough of a reason. |
It is a free service, you paid for the hardware not the servers and there are thousands of places people use their name and address it's not a big deal anyone thinking it is one is stupid even if someone had good reason to keep those hidden among 77 million they aren't going to stand out worst case senario is people get sent phising scams... though Sony should have updated before they sued a hacker... but they're taking the hit not me and psn will probably come out better for it so yeah, no biggie
