We should probably ask experts on this like Team Ninja / Tecmo-Koei or Ninja Theory ;)
I must say i don't like such developer behaviour and consider it kinda like form of prostitution - you made your name and created succesfull franchise for company X then stay in relationship with them if you want to make another part of it or start a new multiplatform IP and offer something new - not just rip-off of game you made for someone with diffrent names.
