I saw the following from an established poster at a forum which has nothing to do with games (so little reason to believe it's a troll):
Hubby is a lead/senior software engineer for a game company and is in charge of online implemetation for multiplayer, online stores, etc.
This is a MAJOR issue as Sony is requiring all companies making games for the PS3 to "recertify" their code which connects to their server network. Problem is that they haven't quite yet worked out all the major specs. And, once that's done, everyone has to get in line to make sure their code works with the new Sony configurations - nice backlog there which will push out the release dates for some titles (or online features will have to be added as a update / patch). The real clusterfuck is that to make Christmas release, games should be well through testing in August. With the uncertainty and now with everyone having to recertify their code at once, this will have a major impact on Christmas game releases for anyone putting out something for PS.

yikes...
if true... it shows why you DEFINITLY don't want to half ass it on your networks as a videogame provider.
Seems like a pain.

Doesn't sound genuine from where I'm standing, sounds very vauge and one step up from "my dad works for sony".

Which is why I said "if true".
However, considering the forum, I can't see why someone would make up something like that... espiecally with 4,000 posts, showing it's just not a recently made account... unlike say...
I wouldn't say it sounds vague... so much as just awful.
I mean, if you have to recertify games not released yet... what's to say released games would still work?
It would make sense that if you completely changed the structure of your internet system that not every game might run 100%.
