sounds like a problem with your power supply
you can check individual components of your mother board if you want though, things like going to system and making sure your mother board is reading all of your ram
its probably your power supply though, you should try and find a friends or something that you can plug into your computer to try it out
also, if you have a power switch on the back of your case you could just flip that instead of unplugging, probably more convenient and it accomplishes pretty much the same thing.
