About the only thing I think the original did better was its design.  But even then, Star Fox 64 has it beat in full 3D graphics and better controls.

Which is exactly why I want a remake of the SNES game, and not Star Fox 64.

Star Fox 64 doesn't need a graphical enchantment all that much, unlike Star Fox. Star Fox 64 already has analogue controls. Unlike Star Fox. And Star Fox 64 pretty much plays perfectly to this day, unlike (Wait for it...) Star Fox. (The original still plays solidly, though.) Hell, the original hasn't even been released on the Virtual Console, for Pete's sake. It demands a remake.

Unless you really, really, really like seeing Fox and his annoying buddies flying around right in front of your face, I don't see why anyone who already has SF64 would pick up the remake.

Everything that is (in my book) wrong with Star Fox 64 was designed on purpose, and a remake isn't going to change them at all. Everything that is wrong with the original Star Fox is due to the Super Nintendo's limitations, and a remake would definitely fix all of those issues.

(Man, this post makes it sound like I hate Star Fox 64, which couldn't farther from the case. I just really want a Star Fox remake.)
