Something no one brought up was that this outage effects everyone on the PSN network. Thats a hell a lot more then what RROD effected. So I think we would have to take that into consideration as well. I think RROD is worse because it had a lot of attention, actually non stop attention. you couldn't go on any of these sites without two articles claiming this or that. Yahoo had it. Local news , all over the place. Rightfully so that it should be that way. MS Screwed up but I think handled it like a pro. Fixed the problem and saved the most detrimental console issue to date from being a massive snowball effect.
So I think only time will tell but new buyers well be the people asking about the security of the psn network and they should, as they should ask if MS fixed there problem. So it comes down to how Sony handle's this and to me they have done a horrible job. Thats where it counts. Just like the ps2 issue's, thats another issue they never acknoledged. One reason why I think so many ended up going to xbox this gen.
