He's right though. The story was sort of meh, and most of the optional missions felt repetitive like Assassin's Creed. However, the core gameplay mechanics were simply amazing. And it seems that the sequel isn't just going to put the story (?), graphics, animations, etc up on par with other games, but it's going to just fucking polish the core gameplay mechanic to perfection, and add a cherry on top of it (awesome powers) to top it off.
inFamous 2 was imperfect, but unlike other imperfect games, it had an absolutely solid foundation. Now's the time it becomes a real AAA game. Only downside I can think of (before I actually play the game) is that there's no multiplayer.
Edit: Another guarunteed downside is the good/evil system. I vaguely remember them promissing that the choices would become more ambiguous, and now they show those two good/bad heroines (ugh, bad one is so fucking... bad) in the trailers... I really wish games would get rid of a karma system altogether, and allow you to judge if an action is bad or good.
