Dunno if a thread like this was made recently.

Anyways, post in this thread if you bought any games because of the PSN outage. Extra points if you write what you thought of it.

I bought Fallout 3. It was really great, but ultimately once I finished the game I felt like it was inferior to Oblivion. While I don't know what the actual sizes of the worlds were in both games, I felt like Fallout felt more cramped, and at the same time, emptier than Oblivion. While I understand that Fallout's story explains why there's so few towns and things, it was really boring exploring without finding a few villages and bandit camps (I know there are a few in Fallout, but not as many). I was really dissapointed with how linear the D.C. area was, since you're pretty much going through zones with invisible zones and everything. That was the hugest downer for me.

The stealth wasn't as good as Oblivion, again, because of the cramped map design. Most of the time, you're in a tight small hallway, so all you can really do is wait until the guy turns around while patrolling. The lack of good silenced weapons and melle weapons (although I admit I didn't max out melle and quest for any good melle weapons) contributed to this, although I was really surprised how the enemy couldn't hear my hunting/sniper rifle from a good few yards away

After a while, the game simply felt a bit repetivie to me, which carried over from Oblivion. The dungeons looked the same, the strategy I used was the same. While I could start a new game, all I can see myself doing is playing as a fullout assault person, and then that'll just make it a normal shooter. It was a great buy for 20 dollars though.
