Crytek is still independent, as far as I know. The only reason the EA-Crysis 2 deal happened is because it's a part of their 3rd party partners program that both Insomniac and Respawn have also signed up for.

Huh I was under the impression that EA owned Crytek. Im actually glad to find out they don't!
