I'd say there have likely been more wars waged on the principle of uniting then the principal of dividing.

Aside from which, if a majority of an area wants too... why should a group of people be forced to assositate with other groups they do not wish to?

And while more wars were waged on the principle of "uniting", most terrorists actions are done on the basis of dividing.

What pretence do those people have the land they wish to claim their own?
