I would most certainly check if I read a review on a game I just bought and I was PSN friends with them already. It would literally take a few seconds.
For instance, I suspect many of the glowing reviews for Demon's Souls were made without the reviewer actually getting very far. They had pressure on them to get a review out as soon as possible, and then wouldn't dare give it a bad score since there were so many hardcore RPG guys praising it all over the net.
So, if this system was in place then we could've laughed at these guys who review a game that takes many, many hours to understand and they evidently only played for 8-10 hours. More likely is that they would rather not put a review out, which I think is a better choice.
Same thing with GT5. How seriously could you take a review after playing the behemoth of a game for only 1 day?
