2. You are overthinking it.  It may not keep the person from being caught at all.  But if I was a cybercriminal trying to steal client information from a company that had recently pissed off a known cyberterrorist group, I might leave something stupidly simple like a document giving credit to that group.  Would it work? who knows? but the document would have taken probably 2 minutes to type and upload.  Since part of any type of terrorism is taking credit for their actions, it doesn't seem like a horrible idea.  Copy "We are Legion", open txt doc, paste "We are Legion", upload.  Done.

IM OVERTHINKING IT. THE PERSON WHO IS SAYING THAT IT IS THE SIMPLE SOLUTION, NOT THE SONY-PLANTED-FAKE-EVIDENCE-TO-TRICK-THE-CONSUMERS-DESPITE-BEING-INVESTIGATED-BY-THE-FUCKING-CIA-AND-WILL-GET-CAUGHT SOLUTION.

Also, I laughed so fucking hard at the italicized.

Yes. . . you are over thinking it.  It was a simple document.  I never even said it was a solution.  I just said it is something simple to do and there are reasons why someone might do that.  I hope you laughed hard.  Maybe it moved a couple brain cells into working again.  For some reason you want to make it sound like I'm proposing some kind of grand conspiracy.

Take it down a notch.  Sometimes, things are done for simple reasons.  In this case, there are three posibilities, Anonymous placed it to take credit, a hacker looking to steal data for financial gain left it because people would have expected Anonymous, and Sony could have done it for PR reasons.  Again, to go back to my original point.  I woudn't be surpriced if Sony placed the file since they had a reason to, but there were other possibilities as well.

But, I'm sure you still basking in the glow of your ability to use capslock and the hyphen.  Bravo.  I think I'll leave it at that.  At this point, if you still think I'm stupid.  I'm ok with that.  I do get a little giggle at thinking about the self satisfied expression I'm sure you had on your face when you made that post though.  I love the internet.
