yes resistance was pretty generic but I had great fun with it and that counts. Games can be all new and innovative but boring. I mean a couple of people have actually played the most generic platformer ever super mario galaxy and they say its a great game even if its the same game as sunshine slightly enhanced 
what insomniac really made right with r. Was the action that happened all around you the gripping story etc. Gow was more beautiful but Im no fan of the whole cover system. Too disruptive for the gameplay if more realistic.
