This all mirrors my thinking. The differences between 360 and PS3 in terms of software is largely a matter of taste. This is why I said 'probably PS3' in the contested Wii-owner recommendation: the libraries are broadly the same, but the PS3 does more and has free online play, so it has a marginal advantage. The only strong reason to go for a 360 instead of the PS3 (assuming you're not desperate to play Halo or similar) is the online chat options, and for someone unused to such a function, what the PS3 offers is more than enough.
