It's still his whims that matter most, and damnation or salvation depends on satisfying them or not. Nothing changes.
Well, if i believe that if i am good God will take me to heaven, then if i`m bad He will send me to hell. In the end, it`s what i do that ends up giving me a reward or punishment. It`s called divine justice.
It`s like saying that in society, law is tyrant because it sends me to jail. But i was the one that did something wrong in the first place, didn`t i?
The laws of society are based (or should be based) on rationality, and the purpose is to protect people, not satisfy some overlord's whims. Your deity's laws are no different then absolutist monarchies where something is considered "wrong" of the tyrant overlord dislikes it.
I don`t remember God or Jesus saying anything about sex in a direct way. The interpretation that sex should only happen during marriage is the interpretation of the Church based on God`s and Jesus' words. It`s connection between those comments.
I don't remember Jesus saying anything about homosexuality either.
