I honestly don't understand what more some of you want from Sony. Yeah, they made a mistake. They have been getting called out for it for almost 10 days now. Now stop and give them some fucking credit for a minute. They have rebuilt the entire system within 2ish weeks and are offering incentives due to your lost ability to play on a FREE service that THEY offer and YOU don't pay for (excluding PSN Plus members of course). This is a horrible situation and Sony should take some of the responsibility, which they have, but many of your are putting a 100% full force blame on Sony disregarding that the actual criminal here is the HACKER or (S).
Now there has been no proof that anyone identity (which I can get out of the phone book by the way with the information that was stolen) or your CC numbers have been taken. Until that time if it ever comes, pipe down a little.
I for one am happy that Kaz took on the media here and actually bowed at them (that's a lot of humility coming from a Japanese person). I respect that they're working hard. Also they are willing to cover credit card changes.

yes some people are complaining that they are doing free trial to psn plus. saying its silly
also complaining about them saying "it wont happen again"
what do you expect them to do.
they rebuilt their network, made it more secure, giving away free stuff, offering to pay for CC replacement, and help to prevent ID theft.
on top of that any of the information that was actually stolen, can be easily found on facebook ir the phone book. and people are saying they would have preferred that their CC# or SS# were stolen over the info that was.
i dont get some people, some people just bitch to bitch.
what would they have wanted sony to do.

I agree with you.
I dont think Sony need to do anything more than apologise and make the network is more secure... people want a free gift for a bit of inconvenience? gtfo.
From a customer sweetner perspective I dont think they have done much but I didnt expect them to... this will cost them nothing but sounds ok in a PR sense.
(But the damage is possibly done in some people minds.... I'm talking potential new adopters).
Yep, Sony are better just making sure it doesnt happen again...but you have to think this rebuild is like a red rag to a bull though, its almost like a challenge.

yay, Kowenicki agrees with me. FRIENDS?
but anyway, this should also help other networks like xbl to be more secured. they probably will be doing something in order to not share the same fate of psn. so this incedent may help the industry
