Why is it silly? It gets people on board to see what that service is like (including giving away free games/themes/DLC/early beta access and free Qore episodes). I don't see anything wrong with that, especially given that they didn't even have to offer that.

Yes but in the end you get nothing to keep after the 30 days.

What are you talking about?  They are offering free game in conjunction with the PSN Plus, ones that you will keep.  Now, if you get something free through PSN Plus, yes, it will have to stay a member of PSN Plus to play it.  However, if you buy anything at a discount through PSN Plus, you will keep that, as well.
