Doom, iPod, Halo, Diablo, Warcraft, Kraftwerk...I'm sure you can come up with more examples. |
I wouldn't call it unique so much as oppurunistic. It's making the right move at the right time. Which should applauded, but i wouldn't call it unique or innovative. A lot of what i've seen in LBP editors look like it had been lifted from games factory. However, LBP has yet to even make it to the mainstream and like I said, i don't expect it to to sell well enough to. It's not even a matter of PS3 to me. I don't think this game would be a roaring success on the Wii either. I don't buy that the current audience will dig it. It's not like casuals were known for picking up platformers in the firstplace. I think it'll be awesome, but i don't see what the casual gamer is going to get out of it to make it the hit with the casuals that people expect, outside of the graphics. |
What numbers are we talking about here? A few million LTD is my guess, and I would call that a success. Not a real system seller, but still nice numbers. |
If i had to put numbers to it, I'd expect it to sell at most a million, probably in the 600-900K range. With a small niche community sticking with the game making levels for it. Maybe more if it really picks up in Japan.
