Given the nature and magnitude of this felony it was a matter of time. This is well out of any states jurisdiction, and needs to be investigated due to the large number of American citizens that were affected. The implication so far has also been that the breach originated on US soil shifting the responsibility more in that direction.
Why I like it is because it keeps Sony honest on the security scene. There will be neutral and expert testimony available in order to determine any potential negligence by any party involved. Expert witnesses are not impossible to manipulate, but FBI agents actually tend to be pretty honest and ethical. It is also a seriously bad idea to lie to them so the details will be known to an objective third party which is all anyone can hope for.
