Well, you've done a fantastic job as governor/senator, and we love your policies, and you have the support of the electorate and your party, but you had malaria as a child and failed an English exam at the age of eight, so I'm afraid we can't let you be President.

I really don't see why anything other than:

• Ability to run the country
• Popularity among Americans
• American legal citizenship

Should be a prerequisite for being President.

I don't even think you should have to be an American Citizen.   If some German guy can be a president why not.

However, the law is the law.  Can't say I'd want a president who disregards laws on his way to being president.

They're supposed to save that for when they become president.
