Crazy, isn't it. The TV isn't what it used to be! And it seems I've been pretty lucky with the PS3. Everything I have plays on it without an issue (not that I have all that much, mind -- mostly home videos). I'd look into it if I could be bothered, but, alas, I am very lazy with such things. ;)

Good thing, of course!  I like the fact that your post showed virtually no traces of fanboyism.  It's just your pure experience/impression of the console.  Just what I was looking for.  I don't agree with everything you said but you strike me as a pretty level headed guy and your OP provided a rare glimpse into the mind of an actual PS3 owner with a gaming PC that didn't see the 360 as "the enemy".  You saw it for what it was: A gaming machine.
