I'm going to say "yes". I was reading a paper this morning and it said this could potentially (key word, there) cost Sony upwards of a billion dollars. I don't have the newspaper with me but I'll grab it in about two hours and post what it sais, later. Keep in mind that most of the time, mainstream media doesn't present an accurate picture.
Still, just like how people avoided the 360 due to the RRoD, imagine people's perceptions of this debacle. The RRoD was well known amongst gamers. This PSN issue is being discussed among mainstream media. Add to that the lost revenue from PSN games, rentals, etc. and there is something to be worried about. And this is actually all without any evidence of credit card theft.
This COULD be very bad.....
