I think in the end it could have a positive impact. I hope that Maybe the 3 companies will sit back and look at how important information security is and focus on it even more to help improve consumer confidence.
Anyone who buys goods online, whether it be actual items from stores like Amazon & Newegg or digital items from iTunes are at risk to have their information stolen. No infomation is safe when its stored on the internet, and people should be taking everyday precautions for that. Maybe this will help people do that
