So I was reading about how Sony only learned about the severity of this whole situation on Monday and that they only then started contacting the customers. That's when I realized something--
Sony hasn't actually contacted me and told me about the issues yet. Has anyone actually received an email from Sony?
If it wasn't for me reading third party gaming news blogs and forums I wouldn't know about this. It's now Wednesday, more than two days after they learned of the situation and Sony hasn't actually told me about it. I have no email from them and no message when I try to sign into the PSN.
Does this worry anyone else? It's amazing how badly they're handling this situation.
I have friends that only know their info has been comprised because I have told them, not Sony. It isn't my job to tell my friends that someone may have all that information, it's Sony.
And what about those people that don't have friends that simply know about the severity of the outage? If I didn't know, I would assume it's still under maintenance like they previously told us and go on like there's nothing wrong. So yeah, since Sony can't be bothered to actually contact their customers that their information has been compromised, make sure your friends know and point them to some source. Do Sony's job for them because it doesn't look like they're going to do it any time soon.
