Every security system does have flaws but there are basic things you're supposed to get right.  Sony did a wonderful job on the hard stuff with the PS3 but they failed pretty hard on the basic stuff.

And the ps3 wasn't hacked for 4 years and they are fixing the problems that came up now, I know it's a pain in the ass but these things happen, they can't go any faster with fixing the problem, I'm just as annoyed as everyone, now if psn goes back up and then ends up going down again after the upgrades then I'll be calling Sony incompetent

Like I said, Sony did a really good job with the hard stuff but failed miserably on the basic stuff.

It's great they went four years without being hacked but that's because people just assumed they did basic things that any semi-competent person would do.  Apparently this mishap was done by an incredibly easy and straightforward method, which is a good reason to be not-so-happy.  If they had to go through some horribly complicated unknown or new process, yes, it's annoying but not entirely their fault but when it's something any amateur could do, it's alright to be annoyed with Sony too.
