Sony won't announce it. Had anybody here ever heared from any manufacturer what productions of their gaming machine costs? Sony will never announce such a thing.

Their fiscal 2009 report will come out (probably) in March or April and will have revenue and profit forcasts (as well as software sales forcasts) for the playstation division; if Sony has small profit projections it would imply that they were still losing money on hardware, if they're much larger that would imply that they were breaking even or turning a profit.

Being that Sony's CEO predicted (not too long ago) that the Playstation division would break even sometime in 2009 I still doubt this report

 

QFT. I'll trust Sony's financial report over a random website any time. In a financial report, Sony is legally obligated to tell the truth without spin, unlike what happens in their PR. As you said, Sony has stated multiple times that they're not breaking even any time soon on each PS3 sold.
