PSN down for five days, Sony warns of “time intensive” fix

Sony has finally updated the public on the ongoing PSN outage, as the service has now been offline for five days.

Spoiler: it’s bad news.

Said SCEA comms boss Patrick Seybold, speaking on the PS Blog:

“I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time.

“As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience.”

PSN was taken offline last Wednesday thanks to an “external intrusion” and has been down ever since.

Kotaku has reported that Sony has “not yet determined” if credit card information was taken in the attack.

This seems to be more bad news and knowing that everyone's credit info is in jeopardy makes me even more uneasy.
