UPDATE: Today I heard a conversation my parents had about a protestant family that lives in my building, after my little sister played with their child. After hearing what they said about them, I'm now sure there's absolutely no way they'd be OK with me being an atheist, so telling them is just a bad ideea right now. Guess my charade must continue...

It seems to me like if you want to know the best answer, you just need to weight the two options based on their merits.

Option A you don't tell them and continuously have stress for as long as you live with them / talk to them. It seems like you are uncomfortable in this position.

Option B you tell them and have a miserable short term and a more comfortable long term.

If I was you, and I am glad I ain't, I would tell them.
