I would'nt think you would want that,if that was the case,I really can't speak to how your parents would react, but I think that's the chance you have to take. You have to stay true to who you are. You can't just keep living a lie. I would think that keeping it bottled up inside, would be a constant burden and bad for your well-being. I'm sure feelings will get hurt, but again you have to do what in your heart feels right. This is all just my personal opinion, but I wish you luck on the matter. |
I don't think they'd go as far as disowning me. The main problem is that it would cause drama, drama which I'd like to avoid. The charade isn't that hard to keep up, as I have Uni and stuff to do, so it's not as if I'm expected to go to church constantly or anything.
There are some things that I have to do sometimes that I don't like doing: for example for Easter people say the following greeting (this would be the approximate translation) A: "Christ resurrected" B:"Indeed he resurrected", and saying something like this isn't to my liking anymore. I have to stop myself from changing the tone of my voice so it doesn't come out as "Indeed? he resurrected?" (LOL). I actually didn't come out of my room today when guests arrived, just to avoid saying that greeting.
I guess things would be much easier if I just came clean...
