I don't really care about god rays, depth of field or fancy smoke effects, portal is not the game for that. Fluidity is not that important either in this game, it would have been fine at 24fps as long as it is stable.
But I would have like some higher res textures to help with immersion. Walking up to the painting at the beginning it would have been nice to be able to see the brush strokes in 2011 instead of a blurry image. Or be able to read the text on the post at the elevator instead of a blurry morse code. The signs and messages that you can read are all fun and interesting, which makes the ones that are blurred stand out. Some of the control rooms later in the game look very rough. It would have been interesting to see some personal items laying around from the people that worked at Aperture through the years.
Gameplay is top notch anyway, which is what counts most. Definately a game I'll play through multiple times including co-op.
