counter strike 2 = counter strike source which is the sequal to counter strike 1.6

But an update to counter strike awesome formular is needed. but that will happen when source engine 2 is unleashed on the gaming world.

I thought Valve made the Source Engine extremely flexible so they could continuely update it therefore eliminating the need to make a new engine?

Every engine can be updated, shit call of duty has been using the same engine since the second game. That flexibility you're talking about just really helps people make their own mods and such, Mods like Garrys Mod aren't possible to make on any other engine or people just aren't dedicated enough.
