You are right that wikileaks has in the past released military files, but a quick search on the internet reveals a mere 1 article which could be considered bad to leak, that which names a Taliban fighter who was considering defection. This was part of a batch of 90 000 leaks, 15 000 of which were not released, because they were deemed to be dangerous.
That batch of leaks also revealed widespread coverups in Afghanistan, including coverups of civilian casualties, friendly fire casualties, and rape of children by DoD officials.
The reason I assumed that you were talking about the diplomatic cables is because stuff like this is just proper war journalism on an existing war, it is not going to start a new one.
