You can back up your data multiple times if you wish. I have 3 steam back ups of my games just in case. Spread over two internal drives and one external. Not that i have ever had an issue anyways. In fact I have access to every game I have downloaded. I can't say that for disc based games I have bought.

Unless you're a very careless person, I would think it's hard to lose a Bluray disc or any disc-based game. I have never misplaced a game, although I'm sure there are people who have lost theirs before. I just believe that physical media has a longer lasting life than digital media.

I will say one thing about digital media; I do enjoy not having to get up and swap discs to play different games sometimes. One of the few problems with digital games is that the size of games won't go down as time passes, which might be a problem for some people who don't have extremely fast internet connections. Imagine trying to download  a 15-20GB game using a slower connection? With a physical disc, all you need to do is pop it in and begin playing immediately.
