I get it, but would you rather disrespect and hurt your parents or disrespect a religion in a harmless way? No one is even going to know, no one will loose anything. It's not the best of situation but between the two of them, it's by far the less offensive.

Yes, though a big disadvantage is that religious services are longer and more boring, plus there are no chiars you can sit on, so you have to stand the whole time.
